What are cute shoes to wear in the rain?

I was just about to leave to go shopping, and of course, it started puring down rain. I was planning on wearing sandals, but really don't have any spring/summer type shoes for the rain. What does everyone else use? I saw some cute rainboots on a website, but am not so sure I want a boot.

How can I get boots to stop bleeding?

I bought some boots on Ebay to replace what I had before. Supposedly they were professionally cleaned before and even wore them in the snow, but I never had this problem with the same exact model I had before when it liked rained or something. I just don't want to walk everywhere leaving my mark for someone else to clean it up. I just want to know if there is some kind of sealant that might stop the boots from leaving stains everywhere.

Buy %26amp; use a water repellant spray on the boots. Let them dry thoroughly, then spray again.

Should I wear UGG kind of boots...?

Should I wear Ugg type of boots this time of year?

the day I'm planning to wear them, I will be going to Southampton and the temperature...will be about, 67 for the high and the low will be 53..

But I will be traveling from London to Southampton...and it will be raining in london.

Should I wear them?

They aren't uggs but they are the same kind of style.

Thanks in advance♥

Should I wear UGG kind of boots...?
No. It's almost June.
Reply:Sure why not.
Reply:I wouldn't recommend it only because its almost june....67 and 53 are not that cold
Reply:girly we have nearly JUNE!!! SUMMER IS HERE now...come on pack your boots away...I walk around in flip flops in winter though ha :)...go whatever feels and looks best! if it rains, where you booties :)

have a nice trip bye bye* :)
Reply:Yeah there still majorly in style everywhere just wear them with ticked in jeans though have a nice time in southhampton
Reply:well i know that real uggs are designed to keep feet warm in winter and cool in the summer. i would say wear them if its going to rain, take a pair of flip flops or sandals just in case.
Reply:UGG's Were in fashion for a little while, trend started by celebrities.

But now there out of fashion, there winter boots. Just because the british weather isn't nice try and dress summery.

At my school UGG's have been adopted by chavs and neds as there fashion footwear choice, Put me off them all together.

My Favourite shop is topshop, it has all the latest trends. Some htings are are bit expensive but it's worth it.
Reply:Uggs arent out of fashion yet and its not really summer..typical english weather.

I seen alot of girls still wear them,

So yeah I think they will look fab.
Reply:When i go to london, i would deff where uggs because i need to go in every shop!

but in soton, its not really warm or cold, but there are quite a few shops, so its nice and comfortable.

But most girls dont really where them here anymore, so i would wear pumps.

plus you are going to be sitting on a train for an hour and a bit, so you wont be putting yourself out sitting on a chair!
Reply:ok, if you're going to wear UGGS..please wear them when it is actually cold out. Also, you might damage them if they get wet. that's because they're suede.(i believe).

STOP THE UGGS.
Reply:uggs get ruined in the rain... i know mine did because of the suede leather
Reply:they would get ruined in the rain but you could waterproof them with a spray
Reply:Yeah go on!

It's not exactly summer weather in England is it (well not in Liverpool anyway =])?!

Besides when I go into town loads of people are still wearing them! You said it would be raining I'd wear them.
Reply:no, your feet will overheat! if you must, bring some pumps with you if you get uncomfy
Reply:http//www.86offer.com buy ugg boots
Reply:erm i dont think that you should wear them. cos in the rain they gt runined. then if its warm in southampton your feet are going to get to hot.
Reply:It's almost June. I don't think Uggs were originally meant for this kind of weather. I wear my Uggs when it's snowing. =)
Reply:wear yuor uggs but bring flipflops!
Reply:You shouldn't wear Uggs...or anything that even remotely resembles them...at all...for any reason!
Reply:well.... you can if you want to, depending on the weather that day. (wether its hot or rainy) but in my opinion you should wear them because they r made of leather =( my opinion is just like the name... UGG!!!! lol

New boots ruined!!!HELP?
Put them on ebay - only worn once yet damaged in the rain.

Someone will think they can make them new again and they might succeed. At least then you'll have a little bit of money you can put towards a brand new pair.

Please look after the second pair!
Reply:try boiling the kettle and holding the boots above the steam and rub with a soft dry cloth. That fixed my boots
Reply:Try shoe polish whatever the color
Reply:buy seude cleaner from a shoe shop %26amp; never wear then in the rain again.
Reply:what kind of material are they made of?

iff theyre suede your ruined and i'm oh so very sorry
Reply:it depends if they are suede then hang them over boiling water and wipe them with a damp cloth.
Reply:u simply put it in your yard sale or wash it
Reply:Try taking it to a shoe repair shop and ask for their advice. There's also special spray for suede shoes that protects your shoes, go and buy some at least for next time so you don't have the same problem.
Reply:if they are suede, purchase a suede cleaner. some trainer cleaners are great for suede shoes, i recently recked my boots whilst out... water didnt stain yet the mud did. I just shoved them in a pillowcase and washed them in the washer.
Reply:oh my stop everything ........ life just cant go on can it ?...... hey try un picking a bit of stitching and taking them back to the shop...also see if they are ment to be water tight as if they are they shouldnt stain ..lo best of luck xx

If they're machine washable put them in the washing machine,

before hand scrub off all the tough bits of mud and then they'll be clean..

High heeled stiletto Boots with metal heels?

I have just bought a fab pair of boots. They are stilletto heel and knee high.

On the sole the actual heel is metal caped I guess so it lasts longer and doesnt wear down like some boots do.

However the soles are quite slippery to wear. I dont know if its because of the metal or what? Who knows. As I was thinking of maybe taking them to be re heeled in something else to give more grip. I dont want to fall flat on my face when im out and its raining etc!

High heeled stiletto Boots with metal heels?
Prince and his dancers put a little patch of sand paper on the bottom of their shoes at the Super Bowl....and nobody slipped and fell!!!! :D ...they actually sell something thats made for shoes that is like sand paper at drugstores like CVS if u dont want to use the real deal....hope this helps!

How annoying is the rain?

I AM SO F*CKED OFF ABOUT THIS RAIN!! SERIOUSLY. I WANT TO SHOOT SOMEONE. IF GOD DOES ACTUALLY EXIST, IM GONNA P*SS ON HIS FACE WHEN I GET UP THERE.

Its blatently all planned. On friday, we broke up from school, and there were several parties, aswell as this Harry Potter thing in the middle of the night. ALL OF THEM were cancelled due to the M*THERF*CKING rain. God is just a mean kid, who needs a good smack across the head, followed by several kicks to the bollocks with a giant steel capped boot.

People have been flooded out of their homes, water has been cut off, and powercuts are happening. People have to stay inside their homes because its just too wet to go out.

Is this pissing ANYONE off but me?!?!?!

Go on, tell me a story about the floods in your area.

Let me know that im not the only one who wants to crucify 'God' all over again for being such a cold calculating ****.....

How annoying is the rain?
Stop blaming God, you jerk! You should be thankful that you are safe! It's not the end of the world, just chill!
Reply:yep. we only just got over the last flood when it hit us again. ALOT of people are now homeless. and since i also have three kids off school now, i dont want to be stuck inside the house with three bored moaning kids. so someone should at the very least have a quiet word with god. you cant crucify him again tho as it was his son that got it the first time anyway!
Reply:Oh, my goodness! Don't get mad. You must pray, especially during this kind of situation.

In our country, we have 2 seasons.... rainy season and dry season. GOD spared our country in a so short a time coz we expect to have lots of typhoons nowadays. But only two typhoons passed our country and the last one, I prayed hard to spare our country and GOD heard my prayer because if the last typhoon would land here, more street children would be sleeping with wet newspapers as their mattresses under the flyovers and trees.

But then, as a result also, more mosquitoes with dengue fevers attacked some parts of our country. Also our reservoir where we get our water to drink are now very low. Oh, is forgot the term.

As far as rainy season in concerned, GOD created such season to clean the air that we breath but the floods, it's not GOD's creation. It's man's destruction to our forests.... legal and illegal loggings, minings, diggings....... Oh, the result, flood all over the world because no more trees to protect our mountains, so landslides occur.... no mo trees to produce oxygen, so thinning of ozone layers occur. Oh, there are lots and lots of after effect once the greedy tree cutters and mine diggers continue with their wrong doings.

Oh, GOD save our Mother Earth!!!!!! GOD save YOUR People!!!!!!
Reply:OMG LOL%26gt; Im also fed up and get angry too but this is such anger!!!!
Reply:you knew at the start of this year they banged on about global warming that much.well this is why. the ice cap is melting seas are rising.all over, gloucester, oxford etc you have 3 rivers about to burst its banks.water supplies disrupted power cuts, all services are working flat out.i wouldnt worry about blaming god.id be thankfull if your in the uk you still have a roof overyour head.this is serious and not going away any time soon.me i live right by the sea,and there is more sea on the road then in the sea.water level rising and sandbags everywhere.a serious tip for the future.move on top of a mountain..
Reply:Don't blame God for our misfortunes, it is mankind that has fu--ed with mother nature and she is striking back. Too many bombs and missiles have caused a decay in the ozone layer, be thankful that it has not reached london, then we will have problems...all the asylum seekers will fu-- off and leave the country in a lurch. Our government should think about helping this country more than other countries...plenty of money for wars, but, never enough when it comes to a serious crisis like this.
Reply:It's not annoying.

Just someone out there is communicating with living human kind in making a mess out there with blunders and slip-uos with human errors in paying the price.

Look around at the mess with seven times of extra ordinary power of destruction of human errors with earth, wind, fire, water and plagues in own back yards.

Never learn the lesson of the Asian Tsunami when the land is 600ft above sea level.

The water can come and swiped living human kind off the land like swiping offf and ant hill.

What do you think?

Leviticus 26.13-24, 27-28, 30-34

Ever wonder who were messing up with our creator in not worshiping God in own backyards?
Reply:This is a great place for you to release your anger.

Anyway get used to it, it will be sticking around, but if you want to believe what the government is telling us about global warming is to fault, then you can we blame the HUMAN RACE its our fault but yet we moan about a few showers of rain. but when England sinks under water don't you english come infesting Scotland looking for dry land.
Reply:Dont you hold back now will you.....lol

The rain is getting me down big time now........

No flooding where I live luck enough, feel sorry for the kids who are on their school holidays though.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Reply:No don't.

They should keep you warm.

If they get wet, will it penetrate to your feet?, which will then get cold, and the boots will get heavy, and probably look terrible.

Do they go with the rest of your outfit?

Do you really care how you look?

If the answer to the above is NO and then YES, then wear them in the house to keep warm, and something else to look smart.

Or would you prefer people to comment "I saw a strange..."

and I love them so much! So I looked them up on yahoo answers just to see what people say about them and I saw something about waterproof spray for ugg boots if they arent waterproof already and they will last longer.

Since its raining season here, where and how much can I get this waterproof spray for my ugg boots that will not ruin them?

Waterproof spray for ugg boots?
im not sure how much it would be, but try looking at a shoe supply store, or back at a payless to see if they have any.

hope i helped!

Reply:I would still try and avoid wearing them in the rain/wet.. If your ugg boots are made from genuine sheepskin leather it will stretch badly if they're wet.. If they do get wet just leave them in a dry place to dry.. Never machine wash them or put them in the dryer.. If you're looking for a cleaning product check out the sources below

Rain on Laptop. Laptop works, but no backlight. Can see icons using a flashlight. Power inverter or backlight?

I was given a Dell Inspiron 700m that has been rained on. I don't know the details, but I think the laptop was open, powered on, near an open window, and rain got on the keyboard. Not sure.

The main problem is that the Backlight does not turn on. When I power it on, I can see the LCD screen change its state. And if I shine a flashlight onto it at the right angle, I can see the Dell boot screen and eventually the Windows XP desktop. All other functions are normal.

When I connect an external monitor to the laptop, I can see the picture just fine. I've been researching online and it sounds like the problem is either the Power Inverter or the Backlight.

I'm going to do this repair on my own. And it looks like changing the Power Inverter is the easier replacement. So I'd like to start with it. Is there any way for me to tell which it is for sure? Both parts are fairly inexpensive, but I want to keep costs to a minimum.

Thank you!

Rain on Laptop. Laptop works, but no backlight. Can see icons using a flashlight. Power inverter or backlight?
My first suggestion is going to Dell's website to see if there is still a warranty, here is a link:

http://support.dell.com/support/topics/g...

If it has a warranty called "Complete Care" or accidental, then it may be fixed for free!

I purchased a Dell on ebay from these guys:

http://stores.ebay.com/IT-bySMART

It had the complete care warranty and it had all kinds of other problems (spots on the screen, bad keyboard and something was wrong with the motherboard), I got it real cheap and then called Dell.. they came to my house with in 2 days and fixed it all like new! It was fantastic, in all the thing cost me $215 (laptop with shipping) and not a dime more.

Any how, that would be my first suggestion, second would be replacing the motherboard. I know that when you have wetness or spillage damage it may seem like it is only causing one or two issues, when in fact it will cause more later. If you replace the motherboard then you should be good to go for a very long time.

check ebay and make sure you research the seller.. I have seen some shady folks ok there, but for each shady one there are a bunch of good ones.

Best of luck!

Oh yeah and Dells warranties are transferable, so just because you didn't buy it doesn't mean you can not get it fixed.
Reply:Did somebody just put the laptop there because rain is not good for the laptop. You don't want to send it back to Dell. If you have a dell account you can ask them.
Reply:Short answer to long question -

Backlight. Proof of this is the use of an external monitor. If the inverter wasn't working, the computer wouldn't come up.

It is raining and I just got my new brown suede boots wet. Is there anything I can do now to avoid staining?!

No they are ruined!!!

It is raining and I just got my new brown suede boots wet. Is there anything I can do now to avoid staining?!
First off why would you wear suede boots in the rain?

You could try to take them to a cleaners that maybe cleans suede jackets and see if they can clean them for you.
Reply:Dry them and blot them with a thick, absorbent towel, then brush them a lot. Then when they're dry, find a combination stain remover/water repellent and treat them with it.
Reply:Use a wet tooth brush and brush the whole boot. It wont look the same but not as bad, Keep the brush wet. I did this to my suede shoes. Also next time they sell suede protector at wal-mart or any other store. It repels water and such. It works great!
Reply:you treat suede with scotchgard BEFORE you get them wet, I'm afraid you are stuck with the water stains now.

Whats kind of proctectant can i use on my new suede boots?

i just got new boots and there suede the bad thing is that its snowing and i didnt buy any spray that proctects it from the snow and rain i dont have any money left so is there any house hold remedies for it?

Whats kind of proctectant can i use on my new suede boots?
Since these boots are suede you can only protect them with a spray especially made for this type of material there is no homemade concoction you can make for this as suede can easily be damaged if you don't know what you are doing or make the wrong mixture, I would suggest you wait or save some money for the purchase of suede protectant spray Good Luck !

1st time owner of a leather bag & leather boots - any care needed? Are they waterproof?

Hi guys, I recently went on a leather purchasing frenzy on ebay and now own a brand new leather tote (RRP$189) and a pair of vintage leather boots.

I've never had any leather products before, so was quite surprised when I did a google search and suddenly there seems like heaps I need to do to care for them.

Is that really neccessary? If so, what should I do to upkeep my purchases (I need solutions that are cheap and convenient)? If I did nothing and just used them like I would any other accessory, what could happen to them?

I just read that leather can't be wet! So what happens if I get caught in the rain one day (which is bound to happen eventually)? Seems silly to pay so much for shoes that can't get wet wherelse water just slides off cheaper materials.

Also, (sorry, I know I'm asking heaps but I just saved up for quite a while to buy these) I was under the (naive?) impression that leather lasts forever. Is that right? Or can leather tear just like any other material?

Thanks!

1st time owner of a leather bag %26amp; leather boots - any care needed? Are they waterproof?
Leather is great, and it does last forever.

Bermans leather has a very good conditioner that is also waterproof. You do need to use some of that because if you do get them wet they will leave water stains, then it will look darker and lighter in different spots.

It's not something that has to be done all the time though. I did my boots and purse years ago and they are still like new, it works.

Whats great about leather is the older is is the better it looks as long as it's not all stained. The conditioner keeps it soft too.
Reply:there are sprays you can buy in stored like COACH and shoe stores that will take care of your leather. leather DOES last a long time..........IF you take care of it. Buena suerte!
Reply:If it is real leather keep on hand polish that matches the color and saddle soap to follow. Polish helps keep the color if it fades or wear (the craking and creases) Saddle soap cleans and shines and helps to water proof the leather. Have a good one.
Reply:It lasts as long as you care for it. Go to a local convenience store (Wal-Mart works well) and buy leather treatment and waterproofer. It is water proof to a certain extent but i would not submerge it. If you do not care for you leather and keep it "lubed" up it will dry and crack.
Reply:ur question was a little big .. its absolutely correct that leather product need to be cared a liitle .... i can say the very easy and simplest thing to care for it .....just clean ur bag and shoes when u use and put in pure cotton cloth and try to wrap it so that air coulnt pass inside it ....and put in place where air hardly goes like ur wardrobe or cupboard but avoid keeping very dark or chances where water or MOISTURE exist ...then ur bag and shoes will long lasting
Reply:there are lotions that you use to condition the leather to keep it soft and pliable and more important is the silicone spray that protects the outside from water marks. read up and take care of the garments and they should last a long time, but definitely protect them
Reply:Saddle soap right away %26amp; then every 3 month or when needed like an oil change for for car.

Is there a way to make high heels/boots less slippery and more comfy?

I love shoes but the ones that are stylish i.e. high heels, knee-high boots etc. all have bases that are slippery on hardwood, ceramic, marble etc. Im going to guess they will also be slippery in rain, snow etc.

Is there anyway to make them less slippery? Is there something that can be attached to the bottom by myself or by a shoe smith?

Also...anyway to make them more comfy? Since they are heels they tend to hurt the front of the foot so any recommended products to line the shoes with?

Is there a way to make high heels/boots less slippery and more comfy?
Get some sand paper and scuff up the bottom soles of the new shoes so they aren't so slippery. Spray a little water in the shoe before you put it on to help stretch it to fit your foot.
Reply:to make them less slippy you can score the bottom of them with something sharp and fine, like the point of pair of compasses or something. Do big slashes across the soles (being very careful!) and it gives texture to the bottom of the shoe, and there fore more grip.

I saw this on a TV show about the fashion show held every year on the very slippy Spanish Steps in Rome - all the models were doing it to their stilletoes.
Reply:They say more expensive shoes are the best. I think that's your problem. They r sopose to be more comfy anyway.

I would like to get some boots that can keep my feet warm and dry. If it is cold outside and no snow or rain my socks get wet. I tried Timberlands, they don't work.

What do you do about a squeak in Ariat boots?

I just bought a pair of Ariat Western Heritage boots. They look great and are comfortable. The only thing is thet squeak when I walk around. It sounds like shoes on a floor after you've come in out of the rain, except it hasn't been raining in this case. I've already had one pair do this and I took them back and exchanged them. These squeak too. What can I do to make them stop?

How to expand leather soccer boots to original size?

I had a new pair of leather soccer boots but didn't take care of them (I think they got wet in the rain) and now they've shrunk. Is there any way to get it back to it's original size?

Thanks!

How to expand leather soccer boots to original size?
I think if you wet them again %26amp; put them on %26amp; walk around in them until they feel comfortable should do the trick

but you may have to keep doing that every now %26amp; then as they dry

to stop them shrinking again

hope it works for you
Reply:Yes there is, there's an old cowboy trick, fill your boots with oats (or any grain that swells up when wet) Then pour in enough water to cover the grain. They will be larger overnight, wear them for a few days untill your feet get adjusted and the boots dry.
Reply:Give it some sun.
Reply:yes, because your shoe it's leather, it's already expandable so just put your foot in it and walk around the garage or outside and your shoes will eventually go back to the original size if not, you just have to get some new shoes but it should go back to the original hope this helps.

How do I fix slippery boots?

I have patent leather boots that do a great job of keeping my socks and pants dry in the rain. The problem is the slippery sole. I slid and fell, on a shiny but dry floor. I don't want to do that again. I know there are big cleats available for walking on the ice, but is there anything I can attach to reduce ordinary sliding? Walking in slush, wet floors, etc.?

How do I fix slippery boots?
If they are new, you need to rough up the soles. Put them on %26amp; scrape around on pavement.
Reply:I have heard of "roughing up" the soles with sandpaper,

or just go out in your driveway and scuff them up a bit

by dragging your feet.
Reply:scrape the bottom of them with a sharp knife
Reply:Take them to a cobler and have them re-soled with a better grip sole.
Reply:Take them to the cobbler or shoe repair shop.

I had a pair that I almost broke my neck on and the cobbler put something on the bottom of the shoe and they were fine.

WIll my Ugg boots get ruined if I put them in the dryer??

Today we had a lot of snow and rain, and my sister and I went out Christmas shopping-stupid me I wore my REALLY LIGHT COLORED Ugg boots. They are soaking wetat the area where your toes would be. I really need to dry them, I've been using the suede defense and brush to clean the stain but that just made them more wet. Will they get ruined if I put them in the clothes dryer? Waterproofing good boots?

I bought a cute pair of nice fashion boots but they are not waterproof. I don't want to ruin them by walking in the rain, but will wateproofing hurt them? Do I need to do it? How? Help plz.

Waterproofing good boots?
Depends. Are they suede or smooth leather? Smooth leather can be waterproofed to a degree by applying leather conditioner and oils to it: try Fiebing's Aussie leather conditioner, or Snow Seal. Both have beeswax and other oils to keep water out of the leather. This won't make them completely waterproof, but it will protect them so walking in the rain or snow won't totally destroy your boots. Kiwi Mink Oil is also a good product.

With all of these products you will have to reapply after you've gotten the boots wet. Still, they will keep the boots looking new for a long time.

Can I wear ankle-length boots in the winter with skinny jeans?

I think skinny jeans really suit me (short and thin). I know wide legs are becoming more popular especially for this fall, but I want to continue wearing my skinny jeans.

What kind of shoes can I wear in the winter? I live in a place with a lot of rain and snow so canvas skimmers won't work.

I have a pair of calf-length boots but I want a slightly different look.

For winter get clogs or uggs.

They are really cute with skinny jeans.

Uggs - http://www.uggaustralia.com/ProductDetai... But, probbably shorter ones would look cuter. I couldn't find them on there but i've seen them before.

Ugg Classic Cardy boots - are they waterproof?

I'm trying to decide whether to order regular short Uggs or the Classic Cardy boots (which I would have to get off ebay) - for anyone who has the Classic Cardy boots, are they as warm and waterproof as the traditional uggs? I live in Southwestern Ontario and need something that will stay warm and dry in the snow and rain - also, what would I put on them to keep them from getting water damaged, etc..?

Thanks in advance!!

Ugg Classic Cardy boots - are they waterproof?
you have to buy the spray to make any uggs water proof
Reply:They aren't waterproof, but you can buy waterproofing spray for a few dollars at any drug store. Spray maybe once a year and let them sit for a couple hours. (There will be instructions on the waterproofing can.)
Reply:hell no are they water proff they are the same as the crocheted ones.. u cant wear then wen its raining or in snow or ur toes will get wettt. i only wear mine on nice days
Reply:there not water proof only if you get a certain spray that is for uggs.

Boots permanent straightening system, any good?

I am considering buying this and giving it a go. However I am getting married in February, so I want to know if it seriously damages hair, or if it's alright to use. I have curly hair, but its moisturised and not frizzy unless I am out in the rain for ages and come inside. It can be straightened pretty easily, I am quite lucky (with straighteners). Can anyone tell me if the Boots stuff works?

Boots permanent straightening system, any good?
It's unlikely that any product will straighten curly hair long term.

If you want your hair to feel silky smooth and well nourished then you have to try FAST (Fortified Amino Scalp Therapy). It provides the optimum ingredients for healthy hair growth.
Reply:I know what you mean. I find my hair dries out so quickly using the straighteners (although I do tend to use them every day during the week, %26amp; try to avoid them at weekends). I saw the Boots system the other day and am very tempted, so very interested in watching the answers on here.

There's some (possibly) useful info on handbag.com http://www.handbag.com/beauty/hair/strai...
Reply:best to spend that extra bit and get sth reliable! ur hair is sth that u cant really cover up!
Reply:no its rubbish it dried my friends hair out so much it was snapping. she had to have her hair cut really short.

go to a salon pay the money and get it done properly and book weekly aftercare like deep conditioning treatments, coz you will need it.
Reply:I really wouldn't trust it. Generic brands or 'store's own' brands are usually horrible, so it's best not to take your chances, you may ruin your hair!
Reply:I wouldnt use something like that so close to the wedding, stick with the straighteners.
Reply:Honestly I would not chance any hair process so close to your wedding date. I use to use the loreal home straightening and it did nothing but take a lot of time to do with no results. If you can straighten your hair using a straightener then do so. If you want your hair a little less curly try the relaxing process after the wedding. This process mositurizes your hair and controls the curls. Please don't get the permanent straightening process, I had it done and I hate it. I miss my curls. So leave well enough alone and enjoy your wedding day. Congrats.

How to make your boots water proof question?

I have a pair of leather cowboy boots for $120 I love to wear them but I cant wear them in the rain because they have never been treated for water if you have know how to treat leather cowboy boots please let me know or if you have any info on how to that will help too. Thank You.

How to make your boots water proof question?
Go to footlocker and get some waterproof spray it works very well
Reply:put plastic bags over them and tie the top with a rubber band...thats how we do in the ghetto.

Reply:Go to any good shoe store and ask for a waterproofing product. Follow the instructions.
Reply:There is a spray that can help protect them.Call your local shoe repair and ask them, they will know.
Reply:They sell water proofer, it's in a spray can, in the shoe dept. or shoe stores. All you do is spray it on and let it dry. And, just like that your boots are waterproofed.
Reply:use a waterproof spray .
Reply:First, you will never be able to fully waterproof them, but you can protect the leather and make it more water resistant.

Buy a leather protector from any shoe store.

Spray each boot heavily so the leather gets soaked by the spray.

Pay special attention to the seams.

Turn the boot over and spray the sole (if it is leather)

While the boot is turned over, also spray around the seam connecting the upper boot to the sole.

Repeat this at least twice and do it every two months.

After the heavy rain I had water in the car boot. BMW E30 Saloon. In the rear jack box(both sides)Any ideas?

There is one rubber pipe on each side of the boot .I have no idea what they might serve at, but could the water have been draining from them? It is def. water, nothing else. The left side was flooded with water. I drained it with a sponge, took all the lining out, dried the boot and left it open in the garrage for 2 days. Does anybody know what the rubber pipes are for or what other explanation could there be? I know it's an old banger, but it does it's job beautifully otherwise. I also have a repair manual for it, but I couldn't find anything helpful inside. No boot issues at all. Thank you

After the heavy rain I had water in the car boot. BMW E30 Saloon. In the rear jack box(both sides)Any ideas?
Often the cause is that the seals around the back lights need to be redone. This is very common in a lot of cars and easy to solve but get someone that has some idea of what they are doing to reseal them. If this doesn't work check the seals in the bottom of your boot to make sure your not missing one. These are under the carpet and if your spare is in the boot these seals are under the spare tire. The rubber seals you are on about just run your hand over them to check for holes but I don't think they are the problem these rubber pipes as you call them are there to keep water out but they may be worn or damaged for one reason or another. Good luck hope this helps.
Reply:the vehicle may have had rear end damage at some point in its history ,thus it will never be exactlty true in dimension, rubber seals will not line up properly thus a leak is inevitable
Reply:check the rubber seals around the boot to see if they fit correctly or are worn. check also for elasticity. that's the most likely place in a car that old.
Reply:Sounds like the boot seal needs replacing quite common on older cars the pipes sound line drains and may be blocked try either pushing some wire down them to unblock them or if you have any access to compressed air then use a blow gun on them.
Reply:There's a ventilation opening on each side of the rear side bumper. These openings are covered by a flappy piece of rubber and they are concealed by the bumper trim.

The flap might be jammed open or twisted, which causes the holes to be permanently open, which allows water to go in when you drive through puddles.

Take the trim off and pull the flaps out so that they're covering the holes (the air will still flow through when car is at speed) and that should take care of the problem.
Reply:i have a brilliant idea as to what's wrong.your boot leaks.

How can i remove water marks from my ugg boots?

my ugg boots are a chocolate color and i wore them in the rain yesterday and they now have a huge water mark on the front piece. is there a way i can remove it without having to wet the entire boot?

How can i remove water marks from my ugg boots?
Nordstrom sells shampoos and water protectant sprays made especially for Ugg boots. Purchase both, wet a cloth and scrub the boots with the conditioner and then just get the conditioner off with just a cloth wet with water. Stuff the boots with paper while they dry to make sure they don't lose their shape. Once they are dry, spray them with the protectant spray and they should stay in better shape. If it's a really bad spot, I'm not sure if it will completely work, but I'm sure it will help. Good luck.

Would it be weird to wear boots in the philippines!? ADVICE PLEASE?

when i go there it rains hard sometimes. but is it still hot. can i wear boots even though its hot and raining. I dont want to look TOO MUCH out of place but maybe its just not their style what do you think

Would it be weird to wear boots in the philippines!? ADVICE PLEASE?
I would say that if you are comfortable with YOU wearing boots, then go ahead. Personally, you are in the phillipines, and it's going to be hot, and I wouldn't want my feet in hot boots. If you want to wear rain boots, great, I'm sure they have them thehe too. If you're thinking black high goth boots, no way, you'll look a bit out of place.

Hey, can't hurt to bring them, and see how you feel when you get there!
Reply:well if your going to a resort then its fine but i dont think most of the locals wear boots or even shoes for that matter. if they have shoes theyre probably some sort of sandal
Reply:Depends on what kind of boots you're talking about. If you're going to wear the kind that you wear with your regular outfit, then you'll be out of place for sure. But if you're talking about the rubber boots, it'll be ok. Or what you can do is wear the fashionable boots then when it's time for you to go outside wear the rubber boots.
Reply:I used to live in Fiji, where its hot all year round, and no matter how much i wanted a pair of boots I knew I'd just look out of place wearing them. Go for it if you're brave enough %26amp; want to stand out. Some of my friends don't care what people think %26amp; wear whatever they want to %26amp; they do get strange looks but it doesn't matter. As long as the heat doesn't bother you......why not?

What boots should I buy for winter in Japan?

I'm from Arizona and have no idea what a real winter is like, let alone in a place with lots of snow and rain. I have very narrow feet and buying boots will be a big investment so I want to make the right choice. I've narrowed it down to 3. Could someone who's been through cold wet winters please advise me on which pair would be best, for daily and work wear. (I get cold very easily)

What boots should I buy for winter in Japan?
Well considering last winter was the warmest winter we've ever had (at least in the Kanto area).........you may not need any heavy duty boots or boots at all....it depends on where you will be living. If your gonna be up in Hokkaido then get some. In general I'd go for the A or C because they are not too thick, plus they are stylish.
Reply:B will get grubby in the snow. I go wit A or C.

BTW, I felt the design is very different from Japanese boots.

Reply:I wasn't able to view "a," but I like "c." You could wear those with a skirt--if you have great legs you could also wear black tights and a mini or shorts and those boots. . .I think I'll go start exercising right now!

Anyway, even more important than boots are socks. If you are really worried about being cold buy yourself some woolly socks (you can buy them in Japan, actually).

I went through the most extreme cold where the snow was piled up over my head in Japan--of course it was in the mts. I don't really remember having cold feet. I got colder in the house than outside walking around. So those woolly socks did the trick. I also had some sheepskin boots that I wore indoors only.

There are several ways that Japanese people combat extreme cold--1. electric blanket 2. foot heaters that you put under the covers 3. woolly socks 4. kotatsu 5. ONSEN.

It's amazing--soaking in hot water will make you almost impervious to cold. I remember a couple yrs ago I got back to Japan from Christmas break in the US--I felt chilled to the bone, even in the heated car. The remedy--go to the onsen asap! Plus, onsen are one of the joys of life--just do it!
Reply:It depends which part of Japan you would be spending your winter.

In the North you would need warm boots. In Osaka just fashionable boots , In Okinawa , forget boots.

Thanks

What boots should I buy for winter in Japan?
I think you should either buy A or C. The other boots look too obnoxious for Japan.

C will be more comfortable, but if you're not going to be on your feet all day the "A" set of boots won't be a problem.

Also, the "A" boots are more sophisticated and still casual enough to wear to a lot of places. (Plus, they look like they're better suited to you foot width.)

So more comfort with a less attractive look, go with C. If you want to wear something that will make a good impression, buy A.

Boots with shorts?

I think shorts with boots look really cute. I bought a pair of black sugar boots and they are very casual. They kinda look like rain boots. Do you think they would look cute with short denim shorts?

They look like these but all black.

Give me some advice!!

Boots with shorts?
No matter what you wear with those boots nothing will look cute.
Reply:if your going for a cowgirl look....sure. i would never do it.
Reply:cute.cute.cute.

would love to go with that look but havent found my boot yet.
Reply:omg yes! they are so cute for the summer. (and rainy weather) I wouldn't reccomend wearing them to the beach though. I personally like the patterned ones. If you wore a brown peacoat or trenchcoat you would probably want to go out in the rain to show off your clothes. I like it.. You can wear them in fall and spring too.
Reply:cute soo cuute go 4 it
Reply:Yeah if you don't mind looking like a hick. I would say either do leggings, a skirt, or skinny jeans.

Fashionable
Reply:no way girlfriend! not with shorts! haha. they're cute boots but wait until winter to wear them.
Reply:If you like them together, wear them. I would wear it if I didn't have anything to wear, but it matters if you like them. I think I would wear boots with shorts though.
Reply:You're kidding, right? Those boots are UGLY! I'd laugh myself to death if I actually saw that outfit. The only appropriate boots to wear with shorts are cowboy boots.

Snow boots??

I'm leaving for Colorado in less than a week, so I don't really have much time to buy snow boots off of the internet. And since I live in Texas, there isn't really a wide variety of boots to choose from. So, I was wondering if regular rubber rain boots would work for walking around and playing in the snow? Would Ugg boots keep my feet dry since the snow won't be all melty like it is down here? Would Scotch Guard work if I sprayed it on Ugg boots? Any ideas??

Snow boots??
I live in Colorado and have 2 feet of snow in my front yard.

Honestly, I think your rubber boots will be fine. All you'll want is a thick pair of socks to keep your feet warm. Otherwise, your rubber boots should be tall enough to keep the snow out--that's the main concern. If anything, wear some snow pants (and tuck the under layer into your boots). If all else fails, tie some plastic bags around your feet. Heck, I live in Colorado and I don't own any boots-- I used plastic bags around my tennis shoes to shovel today--and it worked fine.
Reply:Hun just buy snow boots when you get there...you will need them for warmth as well as water resistance...you wear uggs and they all gonna laugh at ya!! Good Luck
Reply:Yeah i'd just buy them when you get there.

Uggs are casual...not so much practical. and you'd ruin them and have to buy new ones when you get back.

Rubber Rain Boots will keep your feet dry but.....they're ugly.
Reply:Rubber boots won't be warm enough. I agree, buy some when you get there. You'll get a much better selection, and leave the Uggs at home. "Real" people never wear them for playing around in the snow, they're not practical at all.
Reply:Buy them when you get to CO. Most all of the WalMarts. Targets, Payless Shoes, and everywhere here in CO have snow boots. Visit one of the major discount retailers and pick up a cheap pair to wear during you snow playing excursions.
Reply:I would suggest just buying some boots when you get here (I live in Colorado). No, regular rain boots would not work, they would probably get ruined. Plus, Colorado has a ton of places where you can get good snow boots!
Reply:You can wear your Uggs and show that your from the East side but i suggest you get some boots when you are there.
Reply:Get some cute rain boots and wear thicksocks, that will keep you warm

Would you wear yellow rubber boots if it were raining?

PARKAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would you wear yellow rubber boots if it were raining?
if thats all i had to wear to keep myself dry
Reply:Heck Naw! Those things are hideous!
Reply:Nope, I wouldn't!
Reply:no, maybe after it rains.....wouldnt the water get in through the top?
Reply:Aaawww! I always wanted yellow rainboots - what made you think of this?
Reply:Probably not but only because I wear them all day for work.
Reply:yeah
Reply:Of course!! They would look darling!
Reply:Nope. I go barefoot regardless of weather. Better for your feet that way. Rubber boots would keep my feet from experiencing the natural wonders of water and mud. They'd also make my feet sweaty, which would then make my feet and the boots into wonderful breeding ground for all manner of nasty things to grow. Ew.
Reply:yeah..i hate to get muddy
Reply:umm hel l no eww can u say ugly
Reply:No way!

Yellow isn't my color! ;0)
Reply:Yes, if I needed to go out and needed rain boots. Why not?????
Reply:No...i dont have any!!!
Reply:Not yellow ones, but that's me.
Reply:No, but I would buy cute ones in a different, fun pattern!
Reply:no, combat boots work so much better
Reply:yeah, they're cute and stylish, not to mention they keep you dry!
Reply:Not really
Reply:yes.
Reply:no.
Reply:Well of course.....I don't want to get my birkenstocks all wet.
Reply:yes

Water spots on Emu boots??

I just bought some chocolate Emu boots and wore them in the rain (like an idiot) and now theyre all spotted. The sad thing is that I did the same thing with my sand colored ones when I first got them too! Is there any way to get rid of the water spots?

Water spots on Emu boots??
You can buy swede cleaner.

The boots are actually sheepskin, but swede cleaner works perfectly. I have the same boots and use it all the time. you can buy it at a drug store, or grocery store. Just look in the shoelace isle! =)

Can I fly my American Flag in the rain with a light?

I keep taking my flag down when it rains, but I live "at the bottom of the Boot". It is ALWAYS raining here in the summer. I fly it at night during good weather with a light shining on it. Can I do the same and keep the respect it deserves in the rain?

Can I fly my American Flag in the rain with a light?
Most flags sold nowadays are all-weather flags (refer to the packaging). These are permitted to fly during inclement weather, according to the Flag Code.
Reply:i would put a cover over it or move it so the rain doesnt hit it..but i dont think many people will take offence if your flag is getting wet. people get wet all the time and the flag represents them. it can get wet too.
Reply:you're never supposed to fly a flag when it's raining.
Reply:I do think it is considered disrespectful. If it's a summer rain and you know it will end soon, then I would leave it. If you know a whole day or night of rain is coming, I would bring it in.
Reply:no-absolutely not

loubelle
Reply:It has to be an all-weather flag and when it starts to show signs of wear, it must be replaced, but you may

When doing a 3 day expedition and the weather is very wet, what is the best way to dry boots out?

I am doing my Duke of Edinburgh Silver, and the weather forecast is very bad - Lots of rain. So no doubt my boots are goi to be soaked at the end of the day, is there a way to get them dryer for the next day at all?

When doing a 3 day expedition and the weather is very wet, what is the best way to dry boots out?
stuff them full of screwed up paper and leave hanging by the laces
Reply:scrunched up newspaper stuffed into the boots overnight. (Not too tightly pushed in.) This sucks out the water by osmosis and will evapourate by the morning.

Trust me - it does work.
Reply:wear gaiters, tilt them upside down (near a fire if you are able to make one...) stuff a dry towel or article of clothing (that you don't mind dirtying) as deep into the boot as you can (all the way down to the toe).
Reply:Newspaper is good, however once they absorb the moisture the dampness is still there.Nappies are best as they have been designed to take moisture one way and keep the damp inside their one way system, best of luck.
Reply:Newspaper!! It is light enough to carry a few sheets without being weighed down. Just wad it up and stuff into boots, pack them tight, but not too awfully tight. It is also best to keep them off of the ground while they are drying so if you can set them up or even tie laces and swing them over something up off of the ground.

Have a wonderful expedition, hope it isn't too wet!
Reply:Try some gore-tex liners, that way you're feet will stay dry and it won't matter if your boots get wet.

NEVER force-dry your boots by the fire, it will ruin them. Newspaper does quite a good job.

Take some talcum powder with you and don't forget to stop and change your socks regularly if you do get wet. Take plenty of pairs.

Socks can be dried easily by a fire or if you can't have a fire, laying them on your body inside your sleeping bag at night will dry them out. Your body heat should be sufficient to do this.

Remember, wet feet will screw you over in next to no time.
Reply:In addition to the newspaper the others have recommended, place a chemical hand warmer in each boot...it will help warm and dry the boots as the newspaper sucks up the moisture, and your boots should be warm, dry and comfy in the morning.
Reply:I used to work in wet weather all the time. I'd go to an outdoor store and buy a pair of rubber overalls and a rain coat. It can work wonders. You're entire lower body will be out of the water, and the coat will keep it from dripping down into the boots. Some people say it looks silly, but I'd rather look silly then have squishy shoes.

Are Uggs permanently ruined once the rain stains them?

I recently ordered a pair of chocolate uggs and I love them! They are so soft and comfortable, but I wore them without getting the Ugg repelent. And sadly I was caught in the rain. The toes of both boots are discolored and I couldn't be more upset. I tried scratching away the dried water and it somewhat helped, but I wish my boots would go back to the perfect way they were! Is there anything I could do to remove this stain? I read about washing the whole boot and then letting it dry, but I'm afraid I will just ruin the boots further. Is there any way to get water stains out of suede leather? Please help me :(

Are Uggs permanently ruined once the rain stains them?
well to fix it got to norstroms and get the ugg cleaning stuff (or any other place they sell uggs) and wash them and they should come out perfect and to make sure it doesnt happen again get the water proofing spray! hope this helps
Reply:Well I need to know if your uggs are real. Orginally UGGS were made for sufers after they get out of the water so thier feet arent cold. If they are Knockoffs the water stain probably wont come out if Depends on what brand.

If the Uggs are real the rain shouldnt of stained them are you sure it isnt anything else you spilled? I wear mine in the rain all the time %26amp; i never had that problem but I did spill hot chocolate and that stain didnt come off until i washed AND brushed them after.

Hopefully this helps:]]

Camille%26lt;3
Reply:it fades away over time or buy the cleaner at nordstroms
Reply:haha thats why i didnt get them..they get ruined so easily and arent worth the money
Reply:Yes, it is unfortunate, but there really is nothing you can do once stain gets on the suede leather.

Mine are similar to clogs, and they have the same kind of stains you're talking about %26amp; it's still there.

Don't worry. Remember, shoes are MADE to be worn %26amp; they will get dirty and ruined. Which shoes do you know that does not ever get ruined? (the ones that have never seen the light of day!) :o)
Reply:pretty much.

Can you get ugg boots wet??

Can i wear my ugg boots in the rain. Anyone know please!

Can you get ugg boots wet??
yes, they will look kinda weird and messed up and it might scare you, but don't worry, they will dry and be fine. you shouldnt do it too often though and not in that heavy rain. also get the cleaning spray for ugg, it works well. good luck!
Reply:you can get a special waterproofing spray (i got the "totes" brand from shoe department) for suede shoes. Hope that helps = - )
Reply:u shouldn't. my sister has some and the soak right through!
Reply:No, you should not get your boots muddy or wet !!
Reply:use a water proofer for suede. works really well and can buy at practically anywhere that sells shoes.
Reply:I have a special spray to protect mine.

=]
Reply:if you can wash em you can get them wet
Reply:SUR3!!

I wore mine in the winter and it was snowing/raining they kept my toes warm %26amp; they also they dont get flooded with water.

its just splats thens dries.
Reply:Use All protector spray if you really have to wear those UGGly things. Bloody awful creation.
Reply:Give them a waterproofing treatment first...i bought mine last week and i did that immediately..i recomend the waterproofing stuff that they sell anywhere that they sell uggs it will say Ugg austrailia with things like cleaener and they will have one that says for waterproofing!

GL!!
Reply:YES you can! You can even wash them with mild soap if you want! But they're great - they don't easily get dirty, if you get mud on them, then just let it dry and it will brush off. I've had mine for three years, I've worn them in the rain, snow, slush (and mud) - they still look like new.
Reply:not unless you want some messed up boots.

Deffinately not a good idea.

UGGs boots?

if i wear UGGs boots in the rain, would they get wet or would my feet get wet? thx

UGGs boots?
ugg boots r amazing!!! they keep ur feet dry and really warm.

especially frm the snow. the only problem is that the color fades. :(

which really sux cause i bought the black tall $150 ones thinking they can stand snow, they can but parts of mi boots started fading.
Reply:First of all Ugg boots are beautiful for those ppl who were saying their ugly, and no your feet don't get wet! I live in Ohio and theres like 4 ft of snow outside, my Uggs got soak and wet from the snow and now their absolutley fine! I have wore them in the rain too, that didnt hurt them either, the best $120 I ever spent!
Reply:your feet wouldnt of course they would...
Reply:mhmm theyre like sponges i have two pairs
Reply:yer feet would prolly get wet not just the boots
Reply:my uggs are fine in the rain, but to be sure you could buy the care products
Reply:You wont get wet feet but you will ruin the suede
Reply:UGG boots are really soft on the inside. If you have the slip on clogs, then yeah the water will go inside. But if its the ankle length or higher ones, then it won't get wet. But I recommend you not to wear ugg boots when it rains because that will ruin the suede material. If it does get really wet though, they have a special spray for $10.
Reply:Yes having had experience with UGGs they will get get soaked and stained. You should opt not to wear them when it's raining. If you ♥ your boots too much for that make sure you have a sturdy umbrella, and cleaning kit specificallydesigned for taking out stains of Timberland and UGG boots
Reply:just dont wear them... ugg boots are UGGly
Reply:i have gotten my ugg boots wet in the rain and i would not recommand it

it wont rellie leak through but its not good for your boots because i noticed soon after that they did't look as nice.

they may also change in color while there wet

my feet did't get wet either because the fur lining kept from getting to my feet
Reply:they keep your feet dry but get ruined
Reply:You should go to the store where you bought your UGGs. Or any shoe store that sells thing and buy a special water/dirt repellent spray on the suede of your boots. I have the spray and it really works well. Keeps my UGGs clean!

And no your feet won't get wet. I'm pretty sure UGGs are partly designed as rain/snow boots. Not the best rain/snow boots though.
Reply:they would get wet in the rain. Trust me i've had them.
Reply:if you protect the suede, no.

if you dont, maybe. it depends how wet you get them (puddles, and how long you stay out in the rain)
Reply:uhh yea the boots would get wet....and stained. you can clean it with this ugg soulution cleaning stuff.
Reply:spray them then i think thell be fine :)
