Not a lot. Now they can turn out spotty if you just get sprinkles on them. If you end up wearing your suede boots in the rain. Just let them dry completely and brush them with a suede brush the nap should come right back.

No, seriously suede does not do well in rain . I remember watermarks on my shoes and also water can get through into the boot . Maybe they could be treated with something to make them waterproof . No Kidding, that stuff was not on the market years ago . I always loved suede regardless.

Reply:make sure you let them dry naturally away from direct heat stuffed with newspaper and only when dry brush gently with a soft brush and they should be okay. if you don't do this the suede will go 'flat' and patchy.

Therefore suede is actually more water resistant than normal leather.





If wet, put newspaper inside the shoes and let them air dry. Do not put them near the heater, it will dry out the leather too fast and create cracks.

Reply:Suede does not like the rain as water shrinks them and makes them go all hard and horrid. Definately only for good weather

Reply:Be sure to treat them with waterproofing spray before you get them wet or you will see water marks when then dry out and they can be hard to 'rub' out!
Reply:oh my god, never do that they turn into squids attach to your legs and twist your feet around then pull them off and replace them with turkey feet. its horid!!!!!! not a pretty sight, plus most people find it hard to walk with turkey feet.
