Can I fly my American Flag in the rain with a light?

I keep taking my flag down when it rains, but I live "at the bottom of the Boot". It is ALWAYS raining here in the summer. I fly it at night during good weather with a light shining on it. Can I do the same and keep the respect it deserves in the rain?

Most flags sold nowadays are all-weather flags (refer to the packaging). These are permitted to fly during inclement weather, according to the Flag Code.
Reply:i would put a cover over it or move it so the rain doesnt hit it..but i dont think many people will take offence if your flag is getting wet. people get wet all the time and the flag represents them. it can get wet too.
Reply:you're never supposed to fly a flag when it's raining.
Reply:I do think it is considered disrespectful. If it's a summer rain and you know it will end soon, then I would leave it. If you know a whole day or night of rain is coming, I would bring it in.
Reply:no-absolutely not
