Do you adore bright rain boots or would you laugh if I wore them?

I want bright rainboots with polka dots or critters on them for rainy days, to just stay dry plus make a statement. Do you like this style, why or why not? Would you laugh if I wore them to school? Give me your opinions, and if you want, give me links of cute critter boots from stores like J.Crew ( or give me different links, i need more ideas of stores that sell them!)

ok seriously- in NYC you LIVE for rainboots. Its the only way to avoid getting your pants and feet wet when the main mode of transportation here is walking.





If you are in any other city it may not be as popular but thats ok. Who cares what other people think. You may want to reconsider wearing them for long periods of time (for fashion vs rainy days) as they really arent fitted with arches and pads to support your feet and they will get soar quickly.





For the record mine are cream witha blue, green and orange plaid!

Reason: Rain boot...um...it' like wearing barn boots...it just doesn't go. THEN AGAIN....I'd really laugh if you tuked them into your jeans.





But if you just wear them maybe into the dollar store to grab something really quick or if you wore them to a friends house or at home, that would be fine.
Reply:It's cute! I bought my daughter a pair of black rain boots with skulls and stuff on them...she can't wait for it to rain. I purchased hers through Zappos.com, but she is a childrens size 4 (she's only 10) At the same time I ordered the Kate Spade rain loafers in leopard print. a cute and crazy comfortable shoe.
Reply:they're cute if you're a little kid or if you tread through bogs and marshes all day long, otherwise, they're not too attractive. I wouldn't laugh at you, I would just look at you funny if you wore them on a day that didn't have pouring rain.
Reply:I think they are cute. I've seen them at Macy's, LL Bean and Payless. Depends on how much you want to spend.
Reply:I wouldn't laugh at you regardless...you can wear what you want...but I wouldn't like the polka dots %26amp; critters; that's a bit too much. But if it was raining and you wore a pair of regular bright rainboots, I wouldn't think anything of it.

coz in australia only six year olds go around with barbie gumboots and wiggles gumboots.
Reply:I love them and they're huge in the UK - mainly for music festivals. Ebay are fab for them.

Reply:I dont know man, Girls at our school would war those rainbow socks that had a fit for each individual Toe, and they got banned from some reason, I think it turned on guys. So, I'd watch out with those rainbow boots because you might turn on some guys with a strange fetish.

Reply:well I just saw them in Charlotte Russe which is a store good for fashioable apparel! if you want them to make a statement then they will! I personally find them cute and bold (and dry!!lol) but others may not. But go for it!! If they sell them at pretty fashionable stores then they must be in! Either way I would go for it!! Be brave! Be bold! Be fashioable!
Reply:first off, you will get way more fashion street cred if you refer to them as "wellies", not rainboots. i go to school with a girl who has authentic burberry wellies. she wears them with jeans tucked in and a simple tee on rainy days. if you are a little hesitant to rock this look, do what i do instead. wear a bright colored (mine is light blue) mac or macintosh. this is the grown up term for raincoat. trench is also acceptable to refer to this item. i often get compliments on the mac, because it stands out as a bright spot in a sea of gray as other students trudge around campus.
